In 2025, Schmincke improved the formulation of Primacryl to create a professional quality acrylic paint that is more sustainable and free from microplastics. The paint features an innovative binder without synthetic polymer microparticles, making it microplastic-free. Out of the 48 colors, 47 are free from animal-based ingredients, and all jars are made using recycled plastics. The fluid consistency of Primacryl Professional Fluid Acrylic Paints makes them ideal for smooth, flat brushwork, flowing lines, and delicate details. There is minimal color shift between the wet and dry states for accurate color matching, and the range offers the highest possible lightfastness of four and five stars. All cadmium colors are cadmium-free, using formulations that accurately match these colors.
