Description
Jackson’s Museum Centre Bars assemble to make solid professional stretchers for canvas that are free from twisting or warping. Made from 100% PEFC certified pine, the wood is first kiln dried to remove all moisture. The pieces are then finger-jointed and triple-laminated. This removes the natural tendency of the wood to twist or warp due to changes in heat and humidity. Museum Stretcher Bars are sold in pairs; cross bars and centre bars are sold as singles. Any bars which are over 60cm will have a slot into which you can fit a centre bar for extra stability. They are available in three sizes: the larger has a 35mm profile (i.e. it projects out 35mm from the wall). The smaller sizes have a 20mm or 25mm profile. Ensure that you purchase stretcher bars, centre bars, and crossbars with the same profile depth.
